We don’t have card facilities here so all extras can only be paid for in cash (IDR, Euro, USD), or bank transfer
We have free WiFi in the restaurant/ lounge area
Mornings and evenings mosquitos tend to join the party so make sure to bring mosquito repellent
We have “one-temperature-water” 😉 Sorry, no hot showers…
When the tide is out the walk to the boat can be a bit wet so upon check in and check out shorts and sandals are a lot more convenient than long trousers and fancy shoes
Water temperature is around 28 degrees celsius all year round so a skin suit or a 3mm wetsuit is warm enough
Our generator that provides the resort with electricity is switched on at 10am and will be switched off at 9:30/10pm. There is no electricity at night.
We have 4 Minahasa style ensuite bungalows, 1 on the beach and 3 in the jungle and a stone hilltop bungalow which is a bit further away and more private.
Airport transfers are available between 7:30am and 14:30 to ensure safe boat crossings and suitable daylight conditions. If you arrive at the airport after 14:30, we are unable to provide same-day transportation, and you will need to stay overnight in Manado. We can then arrange your transfer for the following day. If you need recommendations for accommodations in Manado, please let us know.
To reach Bangka Island, it's approximately a 1-hour drive from the airport to Pantai Surabaya, where our boat will pick you up for the 45-minute crossing to the island. From Manado city centre, the drive takes around 90 minutes. As a small, remote island resort, we do require a degree of flexibility with transfer times, as they may need to be adjusted to suit tides, weather, and other operational requirements.
If you have any dietary preferences, please let us know before your stay. Due to our remote location, we source ingredients in advance and may not be able to accommodate requests made after arrival. With prior notice, we're usually able to cater for common dietary preferences, including vegetarian meals with options such as tempeh, tofu, and eggs.
Safety is our main concern! We ask all divers to dive responsibly and to stay within no decompression limits. Diving with a dive computer is mandatory. If you don't have your own, you can rent one from us. If you have not been diving within the last 12 months, a refresher dive will be required before participating in any fun dives.
Daily Dive Schedule:
8:00 AM – 2 morning dives (with a 1-hour surface interval on the water)
2:00 PM – Afternoon dive
5:30 PM – Night dive
Please Note: Night dives require 24 hours' notice to allow our staff to plan time with their families. Night dives are not available on Sundays out of respect for our local staff's religious observances.
Bangka offers excellent diving year-round. November–March is generally considered the rainy season, April–July the dry season, and August–October the windy season, with August typically experiencing the strongest winds. While diving usually continues as scheduled, sea conditions during the windy season may limit snorkeling, DSD's, and entry-level dive courses.
Feel free to contact us for any other questions you might have. We are looking forward to hearing from you!
